Took the reigns from Melvin Borge in 1935 as the first official Fire Chief. He proceed to serve the longest term as Fire Chief, serving over 25 years. Rudie Iverson's impact on the department cannot be overstated. The all volunteer Poulsbo Fire Department went from a small, rural deparment to one serving an increasingly large mixed population from traditional farms to modern industrial areas. He was succeeded by Clarence Paulson in 1960.
