Fire Department The Poulsbo Firefighters Association is a non-profit organization that is primarily dedicated to supporting the efforts of the Poulsbo Fire Department to protect life and property within the fire district. The Association also supports Department training efforts in order to provide trained members to be available to local residents and businesses in time of emergency. Additionally, the Association raises funds for worthy community projects. The bylaws of the Association specifically prohibit political activity or any actions prohibited for an association exempt from Federal income tax. The policies of the Association specify that the Association shall be noncommercial, nonsectarian and nonpartisan. The Association name shall not be used in connection with any commercial concern or partisan interest. The membership of the association includes all members in good standing of the Poulsbo Fire Department including Staff, Career and Volunteer members.

The Association supports several ongoing programs including address signs for residents who cannot afford to adequately mark their residence address, smoke detectors for those residents who lack them, Halloween candy for children, candy canes for our Santa's Sleigh program, bicycle helmets for our school safety day program, and numerous promotional and educational items for school age children.
The primary sources of income include revenue from the annual Fireman's Dance, revenue from annual hose testing, memorial contributions and snack time vending revenue. Primary expenses include Fireman's dance, address sign materials, Halloween candy for children, candy canes for Santa's sleigh program, smoke detectors, bicycle helmets, and various educational items for in-school programs.
