Chief Daniel Olson was appointed as the Fire Chief in August of 2008. Chief Olson spent 25 years with South Kitsap Fire and Rescue prior to his current appointment working through the ranks to the position of Deputy Chief. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Fire Administration from Eastern Oregon University and is also enrolled in the Executive Fire Officer Program at the National Fire Academy. Both programs will be completed in the spring of 2009. Chief Olson advocates a leadership style that is character and values based, best developed by good communications and demonstrating respectful behavior over time.
