Chief Daniel Olson was appointed as the Fire Chief in August of 2008. Chief Olson spent 25 years with South Kitsap Fire and Rescue prior to his current appointment, working through the ranks to the position of Deputy Chief.

He has a Bachelor of Science in Fire Administration from Eastern Oregon University and completed the Executive Fire
Officer Program at the National Fire Academy.

Chief Olson advocates a leadership style that is character and values based, best developed by good communications and demonstrating respectful behavior over time.

Chief Olson resides in the Lofall area of Poulsbo with his beloved wife of 24 years, Brenda. They share five children including two sets of twins. His hobbies include continuous learning, hiking, camping with family, and traditional archery.
